Koorie Heritage Trust, Whats on in October

WELCOME | WOMINJEKA

Friends and Supporters

As we head into spring, it is timely to reflect on the months that have passed since we entered into lockdown.

Little did we know as we headed into Autumn in March, when we made the decision to close the KHT to the public due to the onset of the COVID pandemic, that we would still be closed as we head into October. However, despite the challenges, I am proud of our successes, particularly being able to pivot our key programs and services online, and remain engaged with all our community of friends and supporters. This could only have happened because of the hard work and dedication of the KHT staff working remotely, and I wish to acknowledge and thank the KHT staff including particularly our Collections Coordinator who has ensured that our collections of Victorian Aboriginal art, artefacts and oral history recordings remain safe and secure. When we reopen, we look forward to welcoming you back to the KHT and the opportunity for you to once again discover the beauty and uniqueness of our collections through our permanent collections display.

We will of course let you know as soon as we can of our reopening date. In the meantime, we hope our online activities continue to keep you and your family engaged with us and our community of friends and supporters. Please check out our activities in this newsletter and also our online exhibitions and public programs. In particular, we look forward to sharing with you our annual end of year Koorie Art Show, including our Koorie Art Show for Kids and Youth, and our Koorie Krismas celebrations, which we are planning on delivering online, in a COVID safe environment.

We thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the KHT very soon.
