Staff publications: Usha Rodrigues

Dr Usha M Rodrigues wrote an article in The Conversation, Whitewash on the box: how a lack of diversity on Australian television damages us all, following the launch of a collaborative research project report WHO GETS TO TELL AUSTRALIAN STORIES? on August 17.  Usha’s The Conversation article has become the 7^th most read article written by a Deakin University staff. The article has been republished by a number of media including mUmBRELLA.

Usha was also interviewed for an article in The Guardian: Australian television a whitewash as Anglo-Celtic presenters dominate newsrooms, the ABC’s Media Watch, Indian Link and 2SER.

The multi-party (four universities and media organisations) research project that Usha was involved in was widely covered by a number of news media, including The Australian, The Huffington Post, Junkee, Mi3, Yahoo! News, Open Forum, B&T Magazine, TV Tonight, Media Diversity Australia. The report was also trending on Twitter for several hours on August 17.
