A/Prof Maurizio Meloni on 3 March has presented at the School of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Sydney, on Revitalizing the History of Biopolitics: Porous Bodies, Environmental Biopower, and the Politics of Life in Ancient Rome

Dr Dara Conduit’s book The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria (Cambridge University Press) was listed by International Affairs as one of the top ten international affairs books written by women and reviewed by the journal. The full list is available here

A/Prof. Anna Halafoff was interviewed about her and Prof. Andrew Singleton’s AGZ Study in two articles, one in The Age/SMH on Teens are tolerant but uneducated about religion, study finds and one in the Education Review on Tolerant, but kinda ignorant: study concludes Gen Z’s faith literacy needs national curriculum response.

Dr Timothy Neale has published an essay in Somatosphere with ADI member David Boarder Giles and Catherine Phillips (University of Melbourne) on ‘Social Soils and Chimerical Metabolisms’. This article is part of the series Decentering Metabolism: Peripheral and Southern Diffractions edited by ADI’s Victoria Stead and Maurizio Meloni.

Dr Ali Mozaffari chaired the inaugural round of Past-Future Initiative, which was held at Deakin Downtown on 10-11 March 2020. The initiative, which is meant to bring together researchsers and HDRs from ADI and the Faculty of Arts and Education, comprises a public lecture (delivered this year by Dr Manu P. Sobti of Queensland University) followed by an engaging day of HDR (graduate) colloquium (see here for further information).
