HDR Scholarship – School autonomy reform and social justice in Australian public education – applications open

Applications now open

PhD scholarship is available to initiate and conduct research on the topic ‘School autonomy reform and social justice in Australian public education’.

Research topic

This research is partially funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Research Council. The project is situated within the broad political consensus in Australia and internationally that greater school autonomy within the context of increased school accountability will drive up academic standards and improve public education. The study will examine the barriers and enablers to enacting social justice within this policy climate. Through broad and in-depth methods of research across four Australian states (Vic, Qld, WA, NSW), the study will generate an evidence base and new knowledge to support social justice through school autonomy reform.
