Funding and grant opportunities

Our grants program supports a diverse range of artists, organisations, artistic practice and arts activity.

A number of grant opportunities are currently available.

Project Sponsorships (up to $10,000 in four categories, science, environment, adventure, community)

Australian Rangeland Society Travel Grant & Australian Rangeland Society Scholarship

The grant will allow for US$25,000 in funding over two years, to an Early Career Researcher (anywhere in the world) with a project that shows promise and contribution to knowledge

China Professional Placements: The Art Space for Kids

The A.S.K (Art Space for Kids) is China’s leading theatre for children. The A.S.K presents international productions and commissioned works in Shanghai and Beijing, and maintains a robust touring program throughout China.

The A.S.K also incorporates the Academy of Creativity, which offers education programs, workshops and summer camps for children.

Over two months, you will be immersed in the daily operations of The A.S.K. You will also have the opportunity to accompany and assist on tour to second-tier cities.

Applications are open for arts managers, tour managers and producers to apply for a 2020 professional placement at The A.S.K.

The Elmer Adler Fund supports research in Graphic Arts, and the Cotsen Children’s Library supports research in its collection on aspects of children’s books.

Applications for the 2020-21 academic year are open.

Short-Term Fellowships provide opportunities for individuals who have a specific need for the Newberry’s collection. Postdoctoral scholars, PhD candidates, and scholars with terminal degrees who live and work outside of the Chicago metropolitan area are eligible.

Whether you are a professional, student or amateur photographer, you’re invited to enter the Wellcome Photography Prize 2020, which celebrates compelling imagery that will encourage conversations about the health challenges of our time.

This prestigious prize, worth approximately $13,000, is awarded to original published research that contributes to the history of Australia or New Zealand or to the history of colonisation in these countries.
