SCCA PhD by Prior Publication – recent successes

The SCCA PhD by Prior Publication program continues to go from strength to strength.

Toni Jordan’s innovative fictocritical PhD thesis (supervised by Associate Professor Maria Takolander and Dr Jodi McAlister) was mentioned in Jason Steger’s weekly column in The Age–perhaps a first for a Deakin PhD thesis! Carrie Tiffany’s latest novel, Exploded View, which forms part of her PhD thesis (supervised by Associate Professor Maria Takolander and Dr Emily Potter), was shortlisted for the 2019 Queensland Premier’s Prize.

Congratulations, Toni and Carrie! Two other program candidates, the internationally regarded writers Dr Rod Jones (supervised by Associate Professor Maria Takolander and Associate Professor Patrick West) and Dr Craig Sherborne (supervised by Professor David McCooey and Dr Indi Perry), also graduated this month.

Congratulations to Rod and Craig too who, like other candidates in this program, have enhanced Deakin’s reputation for HDR excellence.
