Geelong Gallery – Exhibition ‘the Moon’ – event space & free tours

Experience the Moon in Geelong ….

Can you remember the first lunar landing?

20 July 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing. Deakin University are supporting a major exhibition at The Geelong Gallery programmed to coincide with this significant milestone, bringing together artistic responses to the celestial body that orbits the Earth.

On June 14 the Vice-Chancellor, Professor jane den Hollander will open the exhibition and perform the key-note speech.

In response to the Deakin partnership with the Geelong Gallery I can offer the Geelong Gallery ‘The Moon’ exhibition space to you to host a function or take part in guided tours for staff and external partners or student groups. For the duration of the exhibition (June 15 – Sep 1) Deakin has free venue use and tours available.

You could host an event at the Geelong Gallery at no cost or organise a workplace team event or tour.

If you can use the opportunities I will then be able to provide more information and connect you with the Gallery Event Staff to arrange your event or guided tour. Please forward this information to colleagues who may be interested in event space or gallery tours.

The following options are available for you to use:

  1. NETWORKING FUNCTION SPACE

Deakin University staff or student after-hours tour of The Moon and networking function (no venue hire charges- only food & wine to be charged) (night of your choice to be negotiated).

  1. GUIDED TOURS (up to 50 people)

The Moon exhibition is free entry to the public however the Gallery will provide a limited number (6) guided tours for groups of Deakin staff and students pre-booked through Geelong Gallery. X 50 people each tour

It would be great if you can consider these complimentary opportunities to factor in to your social schedule or to develop a new event for your cohort and partners. Your next team meeting could be held at the Geelong Gallery to coincide with a guided Moon tour.

I will wait for you to discuss with relevant engagement staff, however I have offered the first networking opportunity to some student groups to ensure it is utilised so will have to book as priority the first request received.

Kind regards

Julie
