Humanitarian Leadership and the Future of Humanitarian Action

The Centre for Humanitarian Leadership invites Arts Ed Faculty and staff to the 2019 Asia Pacific Humanitarian Leadership Conference this May here in Melbourne. This is your opportunity to hear from over sixty presenters who are travelling from over fifteen different countries to share their perspectives on humanitarian leadership and the future of humanitarian action.

The program includes keynote speakers Dr Hugo Slim (International Committee of the Red Cross – Geneva), Degan Ali (Adeso and Near Network), Per Heggenes (IKEA Foundation – Sweden) and Lan Mercado (Oxfam – Manila). They will be joined by academics, humanitarian practitioners and donors from around the world for three days of discussions, panels and debate on key issues facing humanitarian’s today and into the future.

This event builds on the success of our inaugural conference in 2017, and we are excited to have both the IKEA Foundation and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as our principal partners in this event.

Registration includes access to social events including the conference dinner that will be held under the iconic spire of Victoria’s Arts Centre.
