SMAPUX – The turning power of medicine

Occupying Peter Waples-Crowe’s constructed stage for his exhibition insideOUT, will be a pop-up performance by Taiwanese artist Dondon Hounwn for the City of Melbourne’s YIRRAMBOI First Nations Arts Festival.

SMAPUX (meaning Shaman in Truku language) is a deep spiritual healing ritual developed from the resonation of Dondon’s healing power and Peter’s stream of consciousness.

There are three stages in this ritual. The first stage is ‘conversation’, to have a dialogue with local spirits. ‘Release’ is the second stage, inciting subconscious information through the dialogue with local spirits. At the third stage, ‘balance’, the balanced spiritual power of two parties will be constructed.
