Design tour through the Koorie Heritage Trust collection

The Koorie Heritage Trust holds a collection of over 4,000 artworks and artefacts, including historic and contemporary design objects such as eel traps, possum skin cloaks, emu feather skirts, jewellery, and more. While many of the works also serve as functional design objects, the items are imbued with a deep cultural significance beyond the practical, revealing an intergenerational practice of design that has been evolving for over 60,000 years.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour in our collection storeroom with Assistant Curator, Zenzi Clark, and hear from Maree Clarke and Marlene Scerri who will be discussing treasured design objects within the collection.

This event is part of Melbourne Design Week 2019, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
