Dr Jessica Walton has published the first article from her DECRA as part of a forthcoming Special Issue in Ethnography and Education, ”Korea…it’s not really actually an Asian country’: Australian children’s experiences of global learning school partnership programs‘.

Dr Michele Lobo has published a new article, ‘Encoutering the City: Haptic Images of Suburban Darwin‘, in Area Journal.

During a workshop at the Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies in Sarnath, India, Professor John Powers was invited to give a special presentation on research methodology for the study of Buddhist philosophy for the Graduate Faculty and students. The title was: “Buddhist Studies East and West: How to Integrate Theory and Buddhist Philosophy.”

A/Professor Maurizio Meloni‘s new book, ‘Impressionable Biologies: From the Archaeology of Plasticity to the Sociology of Epigenetics‘ has been published by Routledge. 

Dr Diarmaid Harkin, Dr Adam Molnar and Ms Erica Vowles have published in Crime Media Culture on their research into the consumer spyware industry funded by ACCAN. The paper is titled The commodification of mobile phone surveillance: An analysis of the consumer spyware industry.

Dr Anthony Ware gave expert testimony to Myanmar’s Independent Commission of Enquiry (ICOE) on 30 January 2019. The ICOE is investigating the allegations of mass crimes against Myanmar’s Rohingya people over the last year or two. Anthony has been asked to assist with several aspects of their investigations over the next 12-24 months. The ICOE was appointed recently by the Myanmar government, and the Myanmar military has pledged full cooperation.

Dr Anthony Ware & Dr Costas Laoutides’ book, Myanmar’s Rohingya Conflict (Oxford UP & Hurst), was featured for a Book Review Roundtable in the latest issue of Asia Policy (Scopus Q1). This is the journal of the US National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) based in Washington. Four eminent scholars wrote detailed, positive reviews of the book and Anthony & Costas contributed a lengthy reply essay entitled ‘Is There No Resolution in Myanmar’s Rohingya Conflict?’
