Alfred Deakin Professor Yin Paradies

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

It is wonderful to be able to share with you a new initiative which will support our development as a University which is seriously committed to Reconciliation through informed Teaching, Research and Practice in partnership with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander colleagues, students and communities.

Alfred Deakin Professor Yin Paradies has accepted a significant but part-time role as Deakin Co-ordinator for Indigenous Knowledges and Cultures.  He will be based in the Faculty but working, in partnership with the Institute of Koorie Education, to connect academic and professional colleagues in advancing Deakin’s practices and achievement in Indigenous Knowledges and Cultures.

It is a privilege to have Yin as another senior Aboriginal leader at Deakin and while I know he has strong plans and an ambitious program to achieve, he and I welcome working with you too to achieve Deakin’s goals.

Yin’s substantive work as a leading researcher in the Alfred Deakin Institute and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences will continue.

I am excited to be working with and learning from you Yin.

best wishes

Brenda
