Acknowledging Challenges and the Successes – read on for the great news!!

Student Services Network

As so many of our professional colleagues are busy considering feedback to the Student Services Network, and many feeling unsure about how their work will change, I would like to acknowledge these challenging times for all of them and ask that we all offer any support we can.   Change is what we do, but it can be a real challenge for everyone involved and for all those who watch and work alongside those who are directly involved.  We value all our professional colleagues and wish you wonderful outcomes and careers ahead.

Academic Work Allocation Model 2018

The consultation period has closed and it is  a sign of the great engagement of all academics that about 1/3 of our academic colleagues have contributed to the feedback.  I am hopeful that I can have a report on the clear and mostly consistent feedback that we received, and the final model to everyone early next week.   Of course we can not do what everyone wants for every circumstance, but we have a number of positive adjustments based on your responses.  It is truly a sign of your commitment and care for students that you have generously and honestly contributed to this process.  Thank you all.

Graduations

Another stunning Faculty Graduation ceremony… 20 PhDs, including another Institute PhD, all Schools and the Institute strongly represented by students and fabulous staff on stage and around.   I had so many comments on what a great graduation it was and how the Faculty continues to shine in supporting students and their families and friends.  Did you know that increasing numbers of students now attend their graduation  and that it is rare for students not to attend their ceremonies?  You make the difference for them!  Thank you.
