Interruption to library services on Wednesday 10 November
Access to library systems will be interrupted from 11pm Tuesday 9 November until approximately 2pm Wednesday 10 November 2021. This is due to a migration of the library’s central server to the cloud.
The key benefit of this move will be to deliver more efficient and effective maintenance of library services through the increased stability and security of the library catalogue. This project will also provide the library with the opportunity to optimise the system configuration.
What services will be affected?
The following services will be unavailable during this outage:
- Access to the catalogue
- Requesting
- Loans and renewals (including Express Loan Stations and the Deakin Borrow App)
- My Account functionality
- FIND IT @ DEAKIN links
- Talis Reading Lists (links to physical items located in the library)
- The Holdings Display in Library Search
Can I still borrow books?
Yes – library items can still be borrowed and returned during this time, however this will not show on your library record until system access is restored.
Students and staff will still be able to search for and access most electronic resources from the search box on the library homepage. Links to access resources will be available in the URL field of the full record display in Library Search.
Resources will also be available via the A-Z databases and A-Z journals and newspapers links located under the search box on the library homepage.
