The School of Architecture and Built Environment was delighted to have world famous architectural photographer, John Gollings, present at our recent REAL Lecture.

John presented MAKING BAD THINGS LOOK GOOD – ‘The dominance of image in communicating architecture’. A discussion that navigated between the staged shots of photography that do not essentially recreate the actual experience of buildings, and the critique of architects creating form without rationale.

John’s lecture provided an interesting insight into his forty years’ experience as an architectural photographer. The lecture was also a wonderful opportunity for Deakin Alumni to reunite with former classmates and network with students and industry professionals.
