The Spirituality and Wellbeing (SWell) Research Network arises from the Australian Research Council funded Discovery Project on Australian Spirituality: Wellness, Wellbeing and Risks (2023-2025). It is the first nationwide study of spirituality in Australia, investigating First Nations, religious, and holistic spirituality, their contributions to wellbeing, and their possible risks.
While there has been significant research conducted on rising religious diversity and those who are non-religious, spirituality has not received the same scholarly attention globally, despite its popularity.
The SWell Network includes Australian and international scholars researching spirituality. It shares findings and insights through convening events and disseminating research publications and media commentary.
