Teaching
Mathematics is taught throughout a number of faculties at Deakin University with core mathematics discipline units being offered by the School of Information Technology.
Vision for our students
A Deakin Graduate who undertook mathematical units will
- Demonstrate Proficiency with mathematical methodologies required to be successful in their chosen discipline
- Display and transmit a positive attitude towards mathematics and show mathematical maturity
- Be able to communicate mathematical reasoning and use mathematical language
- Be able to use mathematical and logical thinking for solving real-world problems
- Show mathematical intuition and an ability to translate their mathematical skills to other disciplines
