Thursday 14 October: Queering Ethnicities, 6-7.30pm

https://museumsvictoria.com.au/immigrationmuseum/whats-on/queering-ethnicities/

Pushing back, rising up, speaking out! From small moments of activism to large acts of rebellion intended to disrupt, we all have a story to pass on.

Join Tutulu, Alyena Mohummadally and Abanob Saad as they take us into their art, writing and cherished objects to talk about:

How do LGBTIQA+ multifaith, multicultural and people of colour use art, writing, media, and cherished objects as protest against discrimination, or to support activism in public and/or personal settings?

Each panellist will speak to a cherished object or a piece of their own creative work, and reflect on how sexuality, gender, faith and cultural diversity are braided together in their lived experience.

More details on the speakers and purchasing $5 per household tickets is here:

This is a joint online event of Immigration Museum, AGMC and Deakin University School of Communication and Creative Arts.
