The Sixth Annual SA Gender, Sex and Sexualities Postgraduate and ECR Conference, hosted by the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender, will be held on September 23 and 24 at the University of Adelaide.

This interdisciplinary conference invites postgraduate students, including Honours as well as Masters and PhD candidates, and early career researchers to submit abstracts whose research explores gender, sex and/or sexuality on the theme ‘Past, Present and Future: contested histories and emerging identities’.

The aim of this conference is to bring together postgraduate students and early career researchers from across South Australia to share their work and research with their peers and to continue building a collegial and collaborative environment for students based in South Australia specifically, and Australia generally.

Previous conferences have featured papers from Law, Criminology, Sociology, Gender & Women’s Studies, Indigenous Studies, Politics, Anthropology, History, Visual Art, Cultural Studies, Creative Writing, Health Science, Philosophy, Linguistics and more.

Presenters will have the opportunity to submit work for a special issue of the peer-reviewed gender and diversity studies journal Writing From Below.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 3 June 2019.
