The Change x Unzipped Team

Change x Unzipped (CxU) is a student-led initiative who host annual global health conferences. This year’s event was held on 28th and 29th of August 2021.

CxU is a collaboration between three Victorian universities including Deakin University, Melbourne University and Monash University. The aim of the event was to engage student delegates through inspiring plenaries and panel discussions with leading experts from medical, health and development sectors. The event also included hands-on workshops and intimate networking opportunities with community groups and NGOs.

The theme for this year’s event was healthcare equity and access for disadvantaged groups in the context of COVID-19. A range of guest speakers helped students to develop a deeper understanding of complex issues such as poverty, asylum seekers and refugee rights and LGBTQIA+.

CxU is about advancing awareness and discussion about equity and diversity by providing opportunities for different voices to be heard.
