Our Latest PhD Graduates!

The University recently celebrated an extended series of graduations, which included the conferral of the following seven new Business and Law PhDs –

  • Dr Bardo Fraunholz, whose thesis was titled A Hermeneutic Phenomenological Investigation of Experience Management in IS Projects, supervised by Dr Craig Parker and Associate Professor Jacob Cybulski of the Dept of Information Systems and Business Analytics.
  • Dr Christine McLachlan, whose thesis was titled Teachers Perceptions of Factors Affecting the Successful Teaching of ICT, supervised by Associate Professor Annemieke Craig of the Dept of Information Systems and Business Analytics and Professor Jo Coldwell-Neilson of the School of Information Technology (SEBE).
  • Dr Ruby Ma, whose thesis was titled Negotiating with the Chinese: Insights from Australian Managers, supervised by Associate Professor Ambika Zutshi and Dr Jane Menzies of the Dept of Management.
  • Dr Md Tarikul Islam, whose thesis was titled Upgrading Supplier Firms in the Global Value Chain: The mediating effects of organisational capabilities, supervised by Professor Michael Polonsky and Dr Mehdi Taghian of the Dept of Marketing.
  • Dr Elka Johansson, whose thesis was titled The Determinants of Reporting Financial and Non-Financial Information by Charities, supervised by Professor George Tanewski of the Dept of Accounting.
  • Dr Sreeparna Saha, whose thesis was titled Imperfect Democracy and the Political Economy of Land Acquisition, supervised by Professor Jaideep Roy of the Dept of Economics.
  • Dr Siyu (Christina) Tao, whose thesis was titled Assessment and Theories of China’s Compliance with WTO in Financial Services, supervised by Professor Sandeep Gopalan of the School of Law.
  • Dr Michael Callaghan, whose thesis was titled The development of a quantitative measure of codes of ethics,  supervised by Ambika Zutshi and Greg Wood of the Dept of Management, Scott Salzman of the Dept of Information Systems and Business Analytics and Matt Warren of the School of Information Technology (SEBE).

Dr Michael Callaghan, who completed his PhD in 2017, chose to delay his graduation until the Warrnambool ceremony on 1 March 2018, where family, friends and colleagues joined him to celebrate his achievement.
