Over the course of the last 18 months the School of Architecture and Built Environment has restructured its collaborative research groupings in order to tighten its research focus.

As a result, the old research clusters have been replaced by multidisciplinary teams researching projects on integral design. Such an approach aims to inform holistic solutions to the complex problems facing future research into the built environment, such as sustainable design, the embrace of smart technologies in construction, advancing society and culture through design, and understanding the health impacts of building and urban design.

The new focus is Integral Design Futures, and can be read about in greater detail, including project descriptions, in the school’s new research web pages.
