T1 2016 – Post trimester review of DLM in MMK101

Meeting between Faculty unit team for MMK101 and library team to review what worked and what needed improvement moving forward.

Decisions made:

• move the due date for the DLM forward 2 weeks so that students have completed the DLM in advance of their first assignment. This works two-fold to decrease questions received around the assignment that are covered in the DLM and avoids the last minute rush to complete. It was also seen that students were completing the DLM after doing their assignment rather than first as designed.
• Multiple questions about peer review and students stumbling a little in the quiz around this. This is included in the DLM but the information is added as more information. Peer review moved to the main content for students to work through
• Multiple questions about finding one article that contains the answer to the entire assignment question. Section added about using multiple sources and combining information to address the assignment questions.
