1936: Construction Proposal

Following the purchase of the land in 1929, it was leased to tenants whilst the Kildonan transfer and required construction was considered.

In June 1936, a proposal was made for the site which included the construction of an administrative block and three brick cottages. Cottages were to be ‘… grouped around a large central, oval field, and would be connected by a covered way with the administration block in which there will be a central dining-room and a large hall.’
The architects were F. Bruce Kemp, L.Hume Sherrard & K.Murray Foster.
