How have you prepared for your studies? Deakin provides new students with two online orientation platforms, UniStart and Preparing to Succeed. They’re a great way to set yourself up for success.
UniStart is an orientation site designed to help you build your study skills. There are live sessions on topics such as referencing, writing at university at preparing for exams. These sessions are also recorded so you can watch them later. Before you enrol we suggest you complete the UniStart self-assessment form to find out what areas of studying at Deakin you need to learn more about.
Preparing to Succeed is an online orientation site specifically for postgraduates. It’s offered through FutureLearn and will build your confidence by connecting you with peers, highlighting what to expect from Deakin, and linking you to some resources you’ll need to begin your postgraduate studies.
You might be returning to study after a long break, working either full-time or part-time, balancing your studies with other responsibilities or undertaking your studies online for the first time. Preparing to Succeed will help you return to study and then direct you to the relevant UniStart resources.
