How have you prepared for your studies? Deakin provides new students with two online orientation resources, UniStart for all students and Preparing to Succeed, specifically for postgraduate students. They’re a great way to set yourself up for success.
UniStart is an orientation resource designed to help you get prepared and build your study skills. Throughout Orientation, there are live online sessions about study tips, Deakin’s online learning spaces, referencing, academic writing and preparing for exams. These sessions are also recorded so you can watch them later. To find out what areas of studying at Deakin you need to learn more about, we suggest you complete the UniStart self-assessment form to find out what areas of studying at Deakin you need to learn more about.
Preparing to Succeed
Preparing to Succeed is an online orientation resource specifically for postgraduates. It’s offered through FutureLearn and will build your confidence by connecting you with peers, highlighting what to expect from Deakin, and linking you to some resources you’ll need to begin your postgraduate studies.
You might be returning to study after a long break, working either full-time or part-time, balancing your studies with other responsibilities or undertaking your studies online for the first time. Preparing to Succeed will help you return to study and then direct you to the relevant UniStart resources.
