3MT Competitors Wanted $$

This year, the 2020 Three minute thesis competition goes virtual via video – same competition, just different format! And you could win a prize of $200, or receive $100 just for participating!

HDR Students who are interested in competing in the 3 Minute Thesis competition should read the Virtual_3MT_Handbook_Participating_Universities_2020 provided by the University of Queensland (UQ). Competitors are required to send in a video submission by the deadline of Tuesday 30 June. Please remember to read the UQ Handbook to guide you on creating a video submission.

The rules have been altered slightly to accommodate the virtual format so please ensure you take the time to read about these modifications in the Handbook.

If you would like to participate in the competition, you are required to complete the 3MT Entry Form and return to [email protected] by Tuesday 30 June 2020 latest, along with your video.

A reminder that all competitors must be active PhD candidates and must have successfully completed confirmation of candidature.

Business and Law will have 3 judges who will consider the presentations and announce the 2 winners to represent the Faculty at the University final on the 19 August 2020.

There will be a ‘People’s Choice’ award so all submitted videos will be available to view and vote on your top pick – more details to follow.

Remember, you have just 3 minutes to speak about your thesis and just one static powerpoint slide is allowed – no other props.
