Your Safety on Campus

At the commencement of Trimester 1, we remind you of two important University services:

SAFEZONE

Deakin’s free app that allows you to directly connect to the campus security team. SafeZone is highly recommended for anyone working outside normal hours, and mandatory for anyone performing practical work outside of normal hours.

1. Download the SafeZone app

2.Register so that Security staff have you details should they need to contact you in an Emergency

3.Under Settings, select ‘Allow Automatic Check-in’

If you need support in setting up the location services component of SafeZone, please speak with your campus security team.

SAFER COMMUNITY

Support from the Safer Community team within DSL is available if you or someone you know has experienced, witnessed or displayed, sexual harm, harassment of any kind, threatening, violent or abusive behaviour. This may include stalking, sexual assault, Domestic Family Violence, Child Safety matters and other problem behaviours. Safer Community can provide support and advice to all parties involved.

In an emergency contact Emergency Services first – 000

For an immediate on-campus response contact Deakin Security – 1800 062 579

Both of these services are accessible through the SafeZone app.
