HDR Social Gathering – Locked Up and Clued In

Saturday 20th October proved to be a fantastic day for 13 HDR students of Faculty of Business and Law who gathered together in the CBD to get ‘locked in and clued up’ in one of Melbourne’s most unique Escape Rooms!

Whether it was stepping into the shoes of detectives who had to investigate what was behind mysteriously disappearing curators in a museum, solving murders in Law & Disorder or figuring out which scientist was a double agent and provided the enemy with classified information, etc. – it all served one goal: Solving puzzles in order to escape a locked room.

Even after finishing the escape rooms the excitement level remained high. Discussions about the hidden clues and puzzles turned out to be almost as fun as the challenging activity itself and left everyone more or less positively exhausted. Overall, it was a really fun experience which we then vividly discussed later on during lunchtime over some coffee and delicious Italian food.

Isuru, Trang, and Nick would like to thank YOU fellow HDR students, for the participation and your effort in making it such a cool and successful experience. We also would like to express our gratitude towards Business & Law Research Team and Dr Joshua Newton for supporting us with the planning and funding of the HDR social gathering.

For those who missed out: The Faculty of Business and Law is generously providing HDR students with some funding for social gatherings. Not only is it a fruitful opportunity to get to know each other in a more informal setting, it is also a useful way for part-time and off-campus HDR students to connect with others. If you are interested in taking part in the events, have any questions or just in general recommendations, please feel free to contact us ([email protected]) any time.
