(Cancelled) Real Lectures

| FreeBased on the rapidly changing situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19) we have made the decision to cancel the Term 1 ‘Real Lectures’ that were due to begin Tuesday 24 March.
This decision has been made to ensure the health and well being of our students, community and guest presenters.
We’d like to acknowledge and thank you for your support and we hope to revive the Real Lecture series once we able to do so safely.

The “Real Lectures” is a student organised lecture series which endeavors to rigorously explore weekly topics that are addressed by some very notable and prominent local architects, internationally renowned architecture firms and/or other professionals that practice within the industry.
- Lectures are FREE
- Held (most) Tuesday’s at 6pm D2.193 Deakin Waterfront Campus during T1 and T2
- Open to the public, no need to RSVP, just come along
As students we are aware of the surface level discussion of architecture that currently is prevalent in a lot of architectural media, and certainly in the general public. Our aim with the curation of the Real Lecture series is to try and get to beyond the what, and instead to investigate the why.
Architecture bears profound responsibility. Thus as designers, we must consider our role as professionals in light of the current climate crisis.
This Real Lecture Series will explore the theme of “Sustainability: Our Environmental, Cultural and Social Obligations” encouraging a rigorous and authentic discourse into architecture and its sustainable qualities.
