Teen Reading – CAL grant win

What are teens reading right now? What informs their choices? Congrats to Writing and Literature group member Leonie Rutherford and her Deakin colleague Katya Johanson, who’ve won a major grant from the Copyright Agency Limited (CAL)’s Cultural Fund program to develop the following project:

“This research investigates cultural pathways into reading for Australian adolescents and the decision-making matrix that informs their text selection. It will map their discovery of diverse narratives, and the textual and cultural conduits that support their engagement, to inform the development of collections, creative offerings, and design of educational resources.”
