Award–winning authors Evelyn Araluen and Maria Takolander speak about writing genre-blurring collections of poetry that stare down difficult subjects with eloquence and lyricism, in a panel discussion with Elena Gomez. ‘A vibrant new Indigenous voice on the Australian literary scene’, Araluen explodes colonial tropes and nostalgic kitsch in Dropbear, her graceful and merciless examination of dispossession and First Nations sovereignty. Takolander offers a lyrical and ruthless evocation of bodily frailty, domestic violence and the Anthropocene in the electrifying Trigger Warning.
