Indigo Perry
Dr Indigo Perry is a Senior Lecturer in Writing and Literature. She is a writer and performance artist, and her book Midnight Water: A Memoir (Picador) was shortlisted for the National Biography Award. She has published a second memoir Darkfall (University of Western Australia Publishing 2020). Most of Indigo’s current creative writing dances a line between poetry and life writing, and is often created live in performance as part of the Illuminous poetry and music project.
Indigo’s main areas of expertise are practice-led research, life writing, and hybrid experimental writing forms. She has a particular interest in interdisciplinary collaborations between modes of creative arts practice, and between creative arts practices and disparate disciplines. She has strong interests in ecology and ecocriticism, environmental discourses, trauma, grief, sadness, depression, and the building of resilience in individuals and communities through creative arts practices.
