Griffith Review Emerging Voices – Long and Short of It competition
…announces emerging voices competition winners
Griffith Review has announced the recipients of its second annual emerging voices writing competition.
The winners of the Long and Short of It competition are:
- Stephanie Barham
- Melanie Myers
- Emily O’Grady
- Alexandra Philp
- Isa Shirokawa.
Courtesy of the Copyright Agency’s cultural fund, the winning writers share in $25,000, an increase from $15,000 offered in the competition’s inaugural year. The winning pieces, fiction and nonfiction that reflect ‘new ideas, fresh voices and bold perspectives’, will be published in the 78th edition of Griffith Review, publishing November 2022.
This year’s competition was judged by Transit Lounge publisher Barry Scott, HarperCollins publisher Catherine Milne and writer Maxine Beneba Clarke, along with Griffith Review’s editorial staff.
