Funding Win – We Are Here – Homeless [Place] Writing
A Writing and Literature group project has won a 2019 arts grant from the City of Melbourne to publish a book of writings by residents who have experienced homelessness.
Run by staff members Meg Mundell and Emily Potter, the research project “We Are Here: Writing Place” draws on creative writing workshops to explore understandings of place amongst people who have been homeless.
The $12,000 grant will be used to produce a book, We Are Here: Stories of Home, Place, and Belonging, to be published by Affirm Press in 2019. The funds will be used to pay book contributors, hold a launch event and public readings, and subsidise production costs for the full-colour publication. Read more on the project website >
