Dancing Between Two Worlds – Funding Win

Good news for Senior Lecturer Dr Patrick West, who’s secured funding for “Dancing Between Two Worlds”, a collaborative multi-arts project that brings together dance, storytelling, place, and community well-being.

Patrick and his collaborators – Deakin academics Shaun McLeod (dance) and Simon Wilmot (film), PhD student Anindita Banerjee, PhD graduate Dianne Reid, and external collaborator Gretel Taylor – have won $5000 from Wyndham City Council and $5000 from Wyndham Community Cultural Foundation (Arts Assist) for the first stages of the project.

Dancing Between Two Worlds is a multi-artform project supporting diasporic Indian arts professionalisation in the Wyndham area of Melbourne. The project is part of a broader study into trans-national place, identity and well-being.
