Ann Vickery – Poetry for Climate Change – Biennale of Australian Art

Staff member Ann Vickery recently gave a live reading of select poems from the anthology Hope for Whole: Poets Speak Up to Adani (Plumwood Mountain, 2018) at the inaugural Biennale of Australian Art.

Held at Lake Wendouree in Ballarat, ‘Visitation to Lake Wendouree’ (14 October 2018) was a performance staged with ClimActs, an Australian collective that uses the arts to communicate the urgent need to respond to climate change.

Accompanied by Rick Sabbatini on acoustic guitar, Ann read one of her own poems, ‘Net Worth’, plus poems by two other anthology contributors selected by ClimActs. Ann speaks about the event, and the ideas behind it, in a podcast interview with Pippa Bailey, Senior Producer of the Sydney Festival (broadcast on The Sustainable Hour, 94.7 The Pulse in Geelong). We’ll post a link here when it becomes available.
