Andrew Dean
Andrew researches literature from the 19th century to the present. Recent publications include Metafiction and the Postwar Novel: Foes, Ghosts, and Faces in the Water (Oxford University Press 2021). He teaches in Literary Studies units such as ‘ALL102: From Horror To Romance: Genre And Its Revisions’ and ‘ALL260: Australian Literature.’
Andrew’s specific research interests include: post-Second World War metafiction; nationalism, colonialism, settlement, and decolonization; American literature; comedy. He has published on the work of authors including Hannah Arendt, J. M. Coetzee, Janet Frame, Katherine Mansfield, and Philip Roth.
Andrew has written on political issues and economic history. He is the author of Ruth, Roger and Me: Debts and Legacies (Bridget Williams Books 2015).
