Academic Study Program

We are committed to providing academic staff with the opportunity to enhance their professional development and to take time to further develop their research or their teaching. For more information in relation to the Academic Study Program (ASP) please refer to the ASP procedure.

Under the 2017 Enterprise Agreement, there are now two types of ASP available; 

  1. Academic Study Program – Research Development. This program allows eligible academic staff a period of up to two trimesters to work with local and internationally renowned academics, professionals and industry leaders from other institutions, or to attend conferences and provides the opportunity for uninterrupted research activities.
  2. Academic Study Program – Teaching Development. This program allows eligible academic staff, who generally will have had a research or scholarship allocation of no more than 10% for 12 months or more, a period of up to one trimester to develop their industry currency related to teaching through industry placements.
