2021 STARS Conference – Sally

 

STARS 2021 – Working on what will be run in STARS conference 2021, 5-9 July. STARS run around the mid-year.

Australasian Peer Network Week June 21 – 25. The network will be 1.5 hours. The idea is to get people across Australia and Asia in the same room.

Directory is currently being updated. Members are encourage to invite those missing and remove anyone no longer in the peer space. 

Survey to capture what has happened since 2020. Will contain the following :  Identifiable data – who is doing what so you can connect and get advice on different types of programs. 

Deidentified data – looking to publish data to draw a picture to see what has happed over the covid pre and post states.

Currently undergoing ethics.

·         Transition to on campus and blended program format

 

 

Students concerns about constantly adapting

Brandan (UTAS) – Great positive with increased student engagement, especially remote students.  

UTAS offering both online and F2F PASS but engagement is lower in both. 

Social programs are working better on campus 

International student programs remaining online (for obvious reasons).

12.15 pm – 12.35 pm Discussion :

·         Rewards – Ongoing Profession Development (Recognition and Rewards)

 

Jo – skills development session throughout the program duration e.g., public speaking, intercultural communication (culture bridge), giving feedback, facilating session, Mix of paid/un-paid mentors –

WIL RMIT – PD and Skills Development workshop, internal or external speakers participants 60-70% attendance is finding out from mentors what they would like to learn.
