Microwave Hubs on Campus

Have you looked in your fridge and thought “I’d love to take this pasta to uni for lunch” but decide not to cause you don’t want to eat it cold? This must mean you don’t know about the microwave hubs on campus!

Don’t worry, you’re not alone – Just about half of our survey respondents said they weren’t aware of where Micro Hubs are located on campus.

The Deakin Food Charter has facilitated a number of self-catering Micro Hub spaces on campus at Deakin. These Micro Hub’s give you the opportunity to bring your leftovers or own home-cooked nutritious meals to heat up, ensuring you’re fuelling your body with a nourishing meal throughout the day.

Heating up food on campus makes our Minestrone Soup the perfect cold winters day comfort food to get you through all those hours of study.

We recommend packing a cheeky (yet healthy) Apple and Cinnamon Muffin, heating it up in the microwave for 30seconds and making a cup of tea with the boiling water tap in a Micro Hub, to have a much-needed pick-me-up on one of your afternoon or late-night library study breaks.
