Banana nice cream

STOP! Don’t throw out those spotty, brown bananas. Instead, make Banana Nice Cream!
Aside from being completely delicious, this banana nice cream is both good for you and good for the environment. Rather than sending your old bananas to landfill, where they will& rot, releasing& methane gas and harming the environment, you can just use them up in this icy treat.
Food waste is a major issue within Australia and across the world. ¹ When throwing out a banana, you are not just wasting the fruit itself but also all of the resources used to bring that piece of fruit into existence and to your plate. This includes water, energy, and fuel, among other things. ² So, to save your bananas from landfill, peel them, break them up, pop them into containers and into the freezer. Once they are frozen, make some banana nice cream.

Ingredients
- 100 ml milk (plant based or other)
- 3 frozen bananas, quartered
- 1 1/4 tbsp cocoa powder (at least 72% cocoa)
Instructions
- Place 100 ml milk (plant based or other) , 3 frozen bananas, quartered and 1 1/4 tbsp cocoa powder (at least 72% cocoa) and process until smooth.
- Place in a container and return to freezer for 15 – 20 minutes for a thicker consistency, or enjoy now and top with your favourite toppings.
Notes
Tips
- Add a tablespoon of peanut butter or other nut butter into the blender when processing for a nutty taste.
- Add 1 tablespoon of pecans, walnuts or any other nuts you like.
- Finish the nice cream with some chopped dark chocolate and salted or unsalted peanuts for texture.
