Last week, the NIKERI Institute Marketing team travelled to Perth with the goal of connecting with Western Australian students and organisations. The inciting incident was an invitation from NIKERI Partner, Polly Farmer Foundation, to attend the Follow the Dream Careers Morning at the RAC Arena in WA. Attending the event allowed them to meet a blend of 300 secondary school students, Careers Coordinators, alumni, education support staff, and external groups who are all connected to the Polly Farmer Foundation and have travelled from across the state. It was amazing to hear so many stories from students, and to see them engage strongly in the opportunities in front of them!
To make the most of the journey, the team reached out to various organisations within Perth who specialise in Indigenous wellbeing, education, health, and justice in the hopes of building a connection. NIKERI thanks all of the organisations who are keen to begin a relationship with us to support First Nations Peoples in their journey for higher education, and a special thank you to Polly Farmer Foundation for inviting us to Perth and introducing us to the rich opportunities of WA.
