NATASHA

My name is Natasha Rossington and I’m a Kamilaroi Kooma woman from Gunggari/Bidjara country in Southwest Queensland, for the past 10 years I have lived on Wadawurrung country, where I work as the Team Leader of Student Experience at the NIKERI Institute.  I am a past graduate of the NIKERI Institute, and I was first introduced to the Institute by my mum and my aunties.  My experience as a student is why I enjoy working at the NIKERI Institute and why I am passionate about supporting mob in tertiary education.  The NIKERI Institute always makes me feel connected to Community and Culture.

Hi, my name is Mark Gilmore. I take care of Admissions and Enrolments at NIKERI Institute and have done so for the last 7 years. I grew up on Boandik Country (Mount Gambier, SA) and have lived/worked on Wadawurrung land for over 17 years. I love music, sport and spending time with family and friends.
I’ve completed a Bachelor of Education (Primary) with Swinburne, and I’m currently enrolled in a Master of Education (Leadership & Learning) at Deakin. My favourite part of my role at NIKERI Institute is working with our students and meeting people from all around Australia.
 
EMMALINA

Hi, I’m Emmalina, a proud Yanyuwa (Borroloola) women with Irish heritage who was born and raised on Wadawurrung country. I’ve been employed at NIKERI Institute, previously known as the Institute of Koorie Education for 9 years. I completed a Certificate III in Business with MEGT/IKE and I am now the Scholarships Officer within Student Services. The best part of my job is listening to everyone’s life stories, reasons for undertaking studies to seeing students commence their academic journey all the way to their graduation.

Hi, I’m Mahi, born and raised in India, and I have been living in Australia for the past 8 years. I have completed my master’s in information technology. Currently, I have been working as NIKERI’s ICT officer for 2 years, overseeing hardware, software, systems, and technology. The most enjoyable aspect of my job is learning about different cultures, establishing new connections, and meeting people from around the country.
