We’re proud to have had over 1100 First Nations graduations from NIKERI Institute (formally Institute of Koorie Education). And in October, family and friends joined the celebrations to welcome our newest group of alumni at our 2023 Community Graduation Celebration.
The celebration hosted at NIKERI Institute gives our graduating students an opportunity to celebrate their achievements with their family but also the academics who have supported their journey at Deakin and our wider NIKERI network. While graduates can also attend a formal Deakin Graduation Ceremony, our event aims to celebrate as a community, with graduates given the opportunity to all speak and share their stories and acknowledgements. Our annual event is the highlight of the year at NIKERI as it is truly wonderful to see the next generation of graduates leading off into the next phase of their careers.
