In the February 2020 graduation ceremonies, Deakin University awarded Aunty Geraldine Atkinson an Honorary Doctorate for her work outstanding contribution to Indigenous education. Through our longtime connection to Aunty Geraldine as a graduate, board member and in her role as Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc. president we have been privileged to see the outstanding contribution she has made to the wider community and we congratulate her on this well deserved award.
Aunty Geraldine Atkinson is an advisory board member of the institute, has had an association with the institute for over two decades and most recently graduated with a Masters of Education at Deakin in 2019.
