Are you an aspiring film producer? Have you always wanted to feature on the silver screen? Or do you feel that your University experience with Deakin needs to be shared with the world?
Well this is your shot at 3 minutes of fame, not to mention your chance to win some great prizes.
Deakin is offering students a chance to showcase their film making skills by sharing their University experiences with Deakin and the world, on the silver screen.
There are three themes for the My Deakin World Short Film Competition. These themes are:
- Survival tips for Deakin Students
- Your favourite Deakin events
- A day in the life of a Deakin University Student
Entries will be required to put their own personal spin on their experiences in ‘Getting Involved at Deakin’. This can include areas such as events, activities, sports, clubs or just your own general social experiences at Deakin.
- Your favourite place to study on campus
- Study or social rituals
- Favourite place to socialise or eat lunch on campus
- Any experience at University that helped you to get through a tough time
My Deakin World Short Film Festival – Deakin Edge, Federation Square
The top 5 short films from each category will be selected by the judging panel and announced 2 weeks after the closing date. A People’s choice award will be selected from these top 10 short film as voted by Deakin students on the My Deakin World Short Film Competition. Plus these top 10 videos will also be shown at the ‘My Deakin World Short Film Festival’ at Deakin Edge, Federation Square, Melbourne on 1 September, 2014.

All compliant video submissions will be posted on this My Deakin World website.
