NIRA’s World Directory of Think Tanks
NIRA’s Center for Policy Research has published NIRA’s World Directory of Think Tanks (NWDTT), which provides a systematic introduction to the world’s most prominent and innovative public policy research institutes, better known as think tanks. NWDTT provides details of the organizational structures of these think tanks and research activities in which they engage, giving you a large resource of potential internship host organisations.


Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
ACCI is the nation’s peak council of business organisations and Australia’s largest and most representative business association. ACCI speaks at a national and international level on behalf of the nation’s peak State and Territory Chambers of Commerce and Industry and National
Industry Associations from all sectors of the economy.

Edmund Rice Centre
The Edmund Rice Centre undertakes a range of projects including research, advocacy, networking, engaging with schools and the community sector, running cross-cultural immersion programs and conducting in-services and training. The Centre has a range of publications, including a quarterly newsletter, Just Thinking; a regular issues paper, Just Comment; and a number of specific research and submission papers. Fraser Institute
The Fraser Institute is an independent non-partisan research and educational organization based in Canada. The Fraser Institute conducts peer-reviewed research into critical economic and public policy issues including taxation, government spending, health care, school performance, and trade.

French Institution of International Relations

Gulf Research Centre

The Institute of International Relations (IIR) is an independent public research institution which conducts scholarly research in the area of international relations. Its founder is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The institute accepts interns as either independent researchers or research assistants.

Pacific Institute of Public Policy
The Pacific Institute of Public Policy (PiPP) is the leading independent think tank serving the Pacific islands community. This organisation aims to stimulate and support policy debate in Pacific island countries.

United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)
This project is a part of the UN, and there are internship options available in many different projects.
As a Cluster Office, UNESCO Bangkok covers all UNESCO mandates: education, sciences, culture, communication and information. It is responsible for the implementation of related programmes in the ‘Mekong’ countries – directly in Thailand, Myanmar, Lao PDR, and Singapore, and indirectly in support of UNESCO country Offices in Hanoi and Phnom Penh. Verification Research, Training and Information Centre (VERTIC)
An independent, not-for-profit, non-government organisation that aims to promote effective and efficient verification of international and intra-national agreements. Projects range from intergovernmental dialogue on nuclear disarmament, to expert legal advice to multilateral fora and governments.
