Exploring parent and clinician experiences and preferences concerning early intervention home programs.
Home programs are often provided by allied health practitioners to families of children with developmental delay and disabilities. This research project aims to explore what parents and allied health clinicians think about home programs in early childhood intervention services, and what their experiences and preferences are. The findings of this project will help allied health professionals create home programs that better meet the needs of children with disability and their families.
We are looking for the following people to take part in interviews for this research:
- Parents of children who either currently participate in Early Childhood Intervention, or have participated in Early Childhood Intervention within the last 12 months. To be part of this research project you need to have had experience in using a home program with your child.
- Clinicians who work directly with children in an Early Childhood Intervention Service up to age 9 (e.g. speech pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, allied health assistants, psychology, etc.). To be part of this research project you need to have had experience in designing or prescribing home programs for children.
We will be conducting interviews from August-October, 2022.
