Imagine: A Journal of Student Writing from Geelong
Writing and reading involve The Search for Meaning. The process can make you feel like you’re standing on The Edge of the World. The Weight of Us pushing down with Discourse and Alphabet Ash. But Why Does Poetry have to be Self-Reflective? Surely A Part of It involves a kind of Business, the transactions of being Lost in the Echo of Fast Food and a marketable Posthuman Fantasy?
Let this edition of Imagine 2013 ignite a Synesthesia of interpretations. Words and Meanings have been combined with an inventiveness of Cartoons and Cereal for the purpose of telling narratives with not one, but Two Windows. Welcome to this space of possibility, for although Seagulls fly over the Ocean’s Melody they also flap and squawk around Washington Square and Flinders Street Station.
Although at times we may feel Ghastly and drained, this edition of Imagine is a reminder that our Eyes are Awake to The Island of imagination. Together We Fly through the Sonnet of Time and at The End, every meaning will Whisper in the Wind.
The Artistic Sorcery held within this edition has been summoned from the creative talent of Geelong secondary school and Deakin University students we hope you enjoy this space.
Yours with words,
