Cloud Campus students
Welcome to Deakin! We're going to guide you through getting started in Deakin's Cloud Campus and successfully completing your first trimester. We've split it up into six phases – Prepare, Orientation, Week 1, Weeks 2–6, Weeks 7–9 and Weeks 10–12. Navigate to the phase you are currently in and use our articles to make sure you're on track. Feeling organised? Look ahead to see what’s coming in later weeks, or check your progress by looking back to see what you've already completed.
It’s never too early to start getting ready for university. In this section, you’ll find everything you need to prepare for your first trimester in the weeks before orientation commences. Set up your email, explore DeakinSync and get ready for your first day of study.
Nice to meet you! Orientation is your chance to get to know Deakin and everything the University has to offer. Learn about our essential apps, our student association DUSA and, most importantly, how to be safe online and connect with new friends.
Your first week of classes can be both exciting and overwhelming, but we’re here for support. You’ll find information below about accessing your first class and seminar, the support services and resources available to you, building your academic skills and where to get help.
At the start of your first trimester, you should focus on two things: your studies and your wellbeing. Here, you’ll find all the support available to you on campus, from library staff to student mentors to doctors and nurses. Reach out to these services when the time is right for you to achieve your best.
You’re over halfway through the trimester! Now is the time to reach out for support with your academic work so you can perform your best at your assessments. You might also like to research getting some work experience, or if you’re feeling out of your depth, have a chat to one of our counsellors.
The pointy end of trimester is all about your exams and assignments. Learn about referencing your work, dealing with stress and anxiety, applying for special consideration and getting support if you need it.
